Taj Burrow, a Pipe Master who displayed complete mastery of all conditions, from the flawless 10’ brain-smashing Backdoor of earlier rounds, to today’s ticklish 4’ onshores.

Every body movement was just plain “right” in his consecutive dispatchings of Durbidge and Reynolds, and it didn’t stop when a six-time Master came after him in the final.

Slater was on ball bearings; jack-knife stalls under lips, pulling curtain ropes, exiting, careening into u-turns harder and faster than a rollercoaster cart.

Kelly also fell. While Taj took to the skies, the master blaster, missile launch after missile launch, scads of edgy lip work, and not a foot out of place.
