Their national board-riding club circuit is called Surftag, and the hallowed sands of Narrabeen in Sydney played host to the finals last weekend, with a shipload of current and ex-WCT surfers riding for their home-town clubs.
Jim Beam Surftag's head-honcho Steve Harrison told worldprosurfers.com, "The ex-'CT crew from Narrabeen(Hedgey, Davo, Noodles) had a point to prove in the final, and took out the 'CT-heavy clubs like North Steyne(Dayyan and Ottz) and Yallingup (Taj).
"The WCT guys have only been cleared to surf for their clubs for the past year, so it's awesome to see them back surfing as part of a team, with all their home-town crew, and getting to surf against old touring mates as well."
Jake Paterson, who conceded his West Australian Yallingup club had peaked in the semis, added, "The rivalries really come out. We're frothing on next year."
