LORDS OF THE RING Footballs & Metal Detectors

Ottz, with Mark Mathews in support, evades the claws of Brooko and Bede

Sunset Elementary was been home to a titanic battle this week as the Australians used the downtime for a touch footy grudge match.
In a mate-against-mate, state-against-state battle, NSW romped home against QLD. Obvious stand-outs for NSW included Tom Whitaker who played rep-level rugby as a grub, Phil Macca, and fellow South Coast dynamo Kai Otton who causing all sorts of havoc on the wing.

Whits shoots holes in the QLD defence.

Surprise packet for NSW was John Shimooka who also ran riot over the hapless Queenslanders.
The game was called to a halt when Shmoo's ex-pro teammate Luke Hitchings realised his wedding ring had disappeared.

All differences put aside during the Emu Parade.

In typical Australian form, both sides put their differences aside and an "Emu Parade" was formed, walking single file across the breadth of the oval looking for Hitcho's gold band for over three fruitless hours until sundown.
Not to be beaten , Hitcho woke up the next morning, procured a metal detector from God knows where, went back to the oval and found it straight away.

Hitcho: handy with a surfboard, leather pill, and metal detector.
