BLACKOUT - North Shore Goes Primitive
Forty-Eight hours ago, a mini-hurricane caused maxi-damage as it ripped across the North Shore; tearing down trees, power cables, phone towers, and isolating the entire stretch from the rest of the outside world.
At the time of posting, approximately half of the Haliewa to Kahuka region is still without power but, fear not, none of the pros have started eating human flesh, yet.
The whole place actually resembles a massive camp out; no fridges, no email, no shops, no petrol, no swell forecasts, and the only noise is coming from the booming onshore slabs of white-water.
When the roads were re-opened this morning Taj and the Hobgoods wasted no time in surfing a super-secret left on another side of the island.
